Here's how to make your New Years resolutions stick!

Resolutions are easy to make, but difficult to stick to as they involve making significant changes to your habits or behaviors. These changes can be challenging to make, especially if they involve overcoming long-standing patterns or breaking out of comfortable routines.

A first step is usually doable, like going to the gym in the first week of January, but following up on resolutions requires effort and discipline, and it can be easy to lose motivation or get sidetracked by distractions or other commitments.

On top of all that, people tend to set unrealistic goals for themselves, which can be difficult or even impossible to achieve. This can lead to feelings of frustration and disappointment, which can discourage people from continuing to try to meet their resolutions. And that's where resolutions often die a beautiful death.

Finally, in many cases people miss a sense support or accountability to help them stick to their resolutions. Having a supportive network of friends, family, or colleagues can be crucial in helping people stay on track and reach their goals.

Here are some small steps that you can take to make your resolutions stick:

  • Start small: Rather than trying to make a big change all at once, try breaking it down into smaller, more manageable steps. This can make the process seem more achievable and help you build momentum over time.

  • Make a plan: Create a specific, actionable plan that outlines the steps you need to take to reach your goal. Be sure to include specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals.

  • Keep track of your progress: Consider using a planner, journal, or app to track your progress and stay on track. This can help you see how far you've come and provide motivation to continue.

  • Get support: Surround yourself with people who can support you in your efforts. This might include friends or family members who are also working on similar goals, or a coach or mentor who can provide guidance.

  • Be flexible: It's okay to make adjustments to your plan as you go along. Life can be unpredictable, and it's important to be open to making changes as needed. Especially if you find out you set the bar too high.

  • Celebrate your successes: Don't forget to celebrate your victories, no matter how small they may seem. This can help keep you motivated and give you the confidence to keep going.

For now all we want to say is: Happy New Year! May 2023 bring you happiness and health. All the best with kicking butt and making positive changes in your life and remember to take things one step at a time, set achievable goals, and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. Here's to a fantastic year ahead!
